It's a little funny how my view on things can change over time. Things that were once vitally important are no longer so and things that I didn't really care for now do seem more important to me. I guess it's all really about change... how I've changed over the years... and how I've perceived chage taking place around me.
Ever since I launched Joy of Yarn I've struggled with the time required to run a small business while still working full time, maintain a home, maintain a relationship, manage my self created mid-life crises... and blog. Having balance in my life is also something I've struggled with and now that middle age is upon me I've decided that now is the time to start doing more things for me... and for pure enjoyment.
The key part of this will be a two year quest to prepare for a year of wearing kilts every day. I say a two year quest because in that tiome I will need to build up a wardrobe of kilts, associated accessories and more importantly knitting kilt hose to wear with all the kilts. I think it will take me all of two years to get ready for this including working on my employers to allow me to wear kilts to work in the corporate environment. But aside from that I hope to learn a little more about my family heritage and Celtic traditions at the same time.
In order to track my way to this goal I have started up a new blog which I've called the Kiwi Kilted Knitter. Here is the link...
Click on the link and check it out to see what I'll get up to and over time what I'll be wearing.
So where does this leave the Fibre Alive Blog??? I'm really not sure. I haven't made any decision to close it down but nor do I see a clear way forward for it either. Time will tell.
Just thought that I'd give you all an update on what was happening and to thank you for keeping the faith and still popping by and checking in on my. I hope you all find the time to follow me on the Kiwi Kilted Knitter.
